Abstract: The targets of my Ph.D. studies are the analysis and the realization of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) localization algorithms. The localization of people and things, in Indoor or Outdoor environment, is affected by an amount of different problems that span from the telecommunications limits, due to the different technologies used to obtain the position information (GPS, UWB, WLAN, Bluetooth, etc.), to the mathematics limits, represented by the nature of the localization problem. Localization is a non linear problem, to solve it are developed different techniques centred to its linearization (Cap. 3 and Cap. 4). In this way the engineers obtain a simplification of the problem and have the opportunity to use limited computation devices like microcontrollers, FPGA or DSP to implement a solution of the localization problem.
