| description.abstract | Scopo: lo scopo del presente lavoro è stato quello di esaminare, sulla base della più
recente letteratura ed attraverso una indagine clinica, l’impatto che abusi e maltrattamenti
fisici, emotivi e sessuali, subiti durante l’infanzia e l’adolescenza, possono avere su
soggetti con Disturbi del Comportamento Alimentare (DCA).
Materiali e metodi: il campione esaminato è costituito da 23 soggetti di sesso femminile
che soddisfano i criteri del DSM-IV-TR per l’Anoressia Nervosa, la Bulimia Nervosa ed il
BED, in cura presso un centro specializzato per il trattamento dei disturbi alimentari. Alle
pazienti sono stati somministrati strumenti per l’assessment del disturbo alimentare e per
la psicopatologia generale (SCID-I), per la gravità della sintomatologia del disturbo
alimentare, per le problematiche legate all’immagine corporea (BSQ), per l’ansia (POMS),
la depressione (BDI-II) e per l’abuso ed il maltrattamento durante infanzia e adolescenza
(CTQ).
Conclusioni: alla luce dell’analisi bibliografica e dell’indagine clinica svolta, si ritiene, in
accordo con vari autori, che le diverse forme di abuso e di negligenza subite durante
l’infanzia e l’adolescenza non vadano considerate come fattori causali per lo sviluppo di
disordini alimentari, ma piuttosto come dei potenti fattori di rischio, in quanto possono
determinare nell’individuo una maggiore vulnerabilità a sviluppare forme di patologia che si
esprimono attraverso il corpo. Generalmente, infatti, i soggetti con DCA con precedenti
storie di abuso e maltrattamento, nel confronto con soggetti con DCA senza tale tipo di
esperienza pregressa, presentano quadri sintomatologici più complessi e gravi. Vengono

| description.abstract | Objective: the aim of this study was to examine, in the light of recent literature and trough
a clinical research, the impact that abuse and neglect during childhood and adolescence
may have on patients with eating disorders (EA)
Method: the sample was constituted by 23 women with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia
Nervosa and Being Eating Disorder (BED), admitted to an inpatient unit for eating
disorders. The patients were assessed for eating disorder and general psychopathology
(SCID-I), for problem with body image (BSQ), for gravity of the symptoms of eating
disorder (EAT-40), for anxiety (POMS), for depression (BDI-II) and for child abuse and
neglect (CTQ).
Results: in the light of the bibliographic analysis and of the executed clinical research,
child abuse and neglect are not considered as causal factors for the development of EA,
but rather as important risk factors, since they can enhance the individual vulnerability to
develop forms of pathologies that find their expression trough body. Generally, in fact,
subjects with EA and experience of abuse or neglect, compared with subjects with EA
without experiences of abuse and neglect, report more severe symptoms. Involvements for
